The mission of Rowan-Cabarrus Community College is to provide training and development opportunities for individuals, businesses and industries in Rowan and Cabarrus counties.

These educational opportunities can be provided through seminars, workshops and courses specifically designed for your organization. Courses in this area offer Continuing Education Units (CEU’s) and/or certifications or licenses.

Process Excellence Seminar Series

Central Piedmont and Rowan-Cabarrus Community Colleges have partnered to sponsor a five part seminar series on Process Excellence. The kickoff seminar will provide a rare opportunity to hear Dr. Jeffrey Liker speak about the philosophy, principles, and underlying culture that have propelled companies like Toyota to become industry leaders.

Corporate & Professional Development (Customized Training):

We provide a wide range of learning opportunities for individuals, groups, and organizations in Rowan and Cabarrus counties seeking personal or professional development.

These learning opportunities include training and development specifically customized to meet your organizations' needs or you may choose to send individual members of your workforce to one of our many open-to-the-public training offerings. Customized training solutions can be held at one of several venues: on your work site, at one of RCCC's multi-campus sites, or at an ancillary location convenient for your workplace.

New and Expanding Industry:

New and expanding industries are eligible for customized training assistance if 12 or more jobs are created in one community in one year. The level of assistance is determined by the total number of new jobs created, their skill and wage levels, and the total amount of capital investment.

Examples of customized courses offered through NEIT include: Pre-Employment Training, Quality Initiaties, Safety Training, Technical Training, Leadership and Interpersonal Skills Development.

Focused Industrial Training:

Customized technical training is available through RCCC's Focused Industrial Training (FIT) program. This program is designed to assist industries with training needs assessments, the development of specific plans for training and the delivery of the training.

Some examples of customized technical classes include: Forklift Safety Training, Programmable Logic Controllers, Powered Industrial Truck Training, and Food Safety.

These courses can be structured as single courses or a customized series of courses.

Small Business Center:

The Small Business Center Network, comprised of 58 Small Business Centers throughout North Carolina, supports the development of new businesses and the growth of existing businesses by being a community-based provider of training, counseling, an resource information.

Two-hour free seminar sessions are offered year-round to help small businesses be successful. Experienced counselors serve as advisors and sounding boards for ideas and concerns you may have about your business. They will help you find solutions to your challenging business questions. There is no charge for this service.

Pre-Employment Training:
Rowan Cabarrus Community College conducts pre-employment training programs for client companies to train a pool of qualified applicants for specific job vacancies.
