AST 111 - Descriptive Astronomy
This course introduces an overall view of modern astronomy. Topics include an
overview of the solar system, the sun, stars, galaxies, and the larger universe. Upon
completion, students should be able to demonstrate an understanding of the universe

AST 251 - Observational Astronomy
This course covers the operation of the telescope and related observatory equipment.
Emphasis is placed on the use of the telescope and related observatory equipment,
including techniques of data collection, measurements, and data analysis. Upon
completion, students should be able to set up a telescope and use the coordinate system
to locate objects, collect data, and make measurements with the telescope. This course
has been approved to satisfy the Comprehensive Articulation Agreement for transferability
as a pre-major and/or elective course requirement. |
