Blackboard Login Instructions

	Please note internet classes are not accessable until the first day of the semester.
	The Online Orientation is presented in the Internet class format. The process for accessing the orientation is the same as the process for accessing Internet courses.
	All students who register or add during the late registration sessions should allow at least 24-48 hours before attempting to access the Online Orientation (for new Internet students at RCCC) or their Internet course (for returning Internet students). This time is required for processing of the course registration, creation of the student's account in Blackboard, and enrollment into the appropriate course or orientation.


	Orientation Reminder for new Students :

	*Students who are new* to Internet courses at RCCC can access the online orientation by noon Monday, August 11, 2008. The orientation MUST complete by Wednesday, August 27, 2008** in order to have their course access "turned on" (added to the Blackboard class rosters). Students who have completed Internet courses at RCCC previously are encouraged to review the Orientation content for important instructions and helpful information. This "refresher" information is found within the online Student Help Desk, which is available to all RCCC registered Internet students each semester, and referenced in each Internet course.
	Internet courses follow the regular semester schedule. For Fall Semester 2008, classes begin on August 18, 2008 and end on Tuesday, December 16, 2008. Students are expected to access their course on the first day of the semester to receive instructions and begin their coursework. Courses are not self-paced.
	All Internet students MUST access their course(s) by 5:00 pm Wednesday, August 27 , 2008 to remain in the course(s). *Students who do not meet this deadline will be administratively withdrawn from their Internet course(s).*

Access the RCCC Blackboard main web page at http://rccc.blackboard.com

Click here to login to your Internet or Hybrid course.

When the login screen appears, you will need to enter your username and password (in lower case letters).

Note: Blackboard Logins are set up using the student name as they appear on RCCC registration records.

Blackboard Username and Password Information:

	Enter rccc. , first 10 letters of your last name. , the first initial of your first name and the last 4 digits of your Student ID as your username. (example: John Doe, 1234567 would be rccc.doe.j4567)
	Enter the generic password rccc. Once you login, you may change your password by clicking on the Personal Information link, found within the Tools area of the Blackboard Welcome page or within your course
	Can't remember your password? If you do not remember the password you last used, on the Login page, please click on the "Forgot Your Password?" link located on the login module below the password field.
	If you find that you are not able to login, and you are certain that you are entering the right username and password, contact your instructor or call the help line at 1-800-808-0489
	Want to change your existing password? Once you login, you may change your password by clicking on the Personal Information link, found within the Course Tools area within your course.
	Where can I find my Student ID number? 	Seeing My Courses & Organizations:

After you click "Login," you will be taken to the "My Blackboard " screen.

The course(s) in which you are enrolled will be listed in the box label "My Courses" on the right of your screen. This includes the Online Orientation.

Click on the course you want to enter.

if you do not see your course listed there, contact your instructor.

Students who are new to Internet courses at RCCC MUST complete the Orientation in order to have their course access "turned on" (added to the Blackboard class rosters).
