Customer Service Representative — Continuing Education Office
Position Description(s):

The Customer Service Representative performs a wide variety of standard clerical and administrative tasks to ensure efficient flow and services to community and campus clients in the daily operations of the Continuing Education Office. Responsibilities may include:

  • Provide general information and answers about services and procedures as requested by clients in person or via the telephone.
  • Perform a variety of clerical services including data look-up using Datatel, typing correspondence, filing records or locating and distributing documents to the appropriate staff members.
  • Maintain the appearance of the front desk, the lobby information centers, and lobby waiting areas to ensure quality service is provided to students and community clients.
  • Screen student and client concerns before referring to the appropriate office or Continuing Education staff member.
  • Answer multiple phone line system, direct calls to the appropriate internal office, RCCC employee or external agency as needed.
  • Perform all duties related to campus and USPS mail, courier service and distribution to Continuing Education Staff.
  • Monitor inventory and supply needs for front desk operations.
  • Create and update electronic and paper files as needed for front desk operations.
  • Assist in overseeing the atmosphere of the Continuing Education area to include confidentiality of information, respect for noise level, welcoming and professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Look for continuous ways to improve the services to students and community clients.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a supervised or unsupervised, fast paced, team environment.
Qualifications:
  Required:
 
Three or more years of customer service experience or Associate Degree and one year of customer service experience. Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, Experience working with people from diverse backgrounds. Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills related to word processing, MS Outlook, spreadsheet management.
 
Salary:
Commensurate with education and experience
