bullet Average award is $350.
bullet The deadline for applying is March 15th prior to the beginning of the new award year.
bullet Be a U. S. citizen
bullet Be a North Carolina resident
bullet Enroll or be accepted for enrollment on a full-time basis at a North Carolina post secondary institution
bullet Not be enrolled in a program designed primarily for career preparation in a religious vocation
bullet Maintain satisfactory academic progress
bullet Demonstrate "substantial" financial need.
How to Apply:
bullet Complete and file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
bullet
If you are applying for the Fall 2007, Spring 2008 or Summer 2008, complete the 2007/08 FAFSA form.
bullet Show on the form that North Carolina is state of legal residence
bullet
Mark "yes" on the form, giving the U. S. Department of Education permission to send the financial information to the College Foundation, Inc.
bullet
List at least one North Carolina college, university, technical or vocational school in the release section of the form.
