LRC Services

Audiovisual Materials
The LRC has a variety of audiovisual materials and equipment, such as videos and VCRs, which can be used only in the LRC.

Circulation
A library card, available at the circulation desk, is required to check out books from the LRC.  The first card is free, but any replacements will cost $5.00 each.

Circulating items are checked out for 2 weeks and are always due on the date stamped on the date due form. Items may be renewed for an additional 2 weeks at the Circulation desk or by telephone.  If a book is checked out, a hold can be placed on it, and a notification will be sent when it becomes available.

Reference books, periodicals, and audiovisuals do not circulate.

Courier Service
A courier service is provided for students, faculty and staff to transfer materials once a day between the North and South campuses.

Fax Service
If you need an article from a magazine on the other RCCC campus, a FAX copy can be requested at no charge.  A personal FAX costs 50 cents for up to 5 pages; $1.00 for 6+ pages.

Interlibrary Loan
If an item you need is not available in our LRC collection or from another community college on the online catalog, we can request it from another library throughout the southeastern Library Network (SOLINET).  Please allow at least two weeks for this service.

To use the internet, you must read and sign the agreement(s) regarding usage and present a student i.d. or photo i.d., correct address and library card. Laptops also require a deposit. The appropriate use for this service is college related research and/or educational activities.

Lost Books
The borrower is responsible for lost or damaged materials. All fees must be paid before other materials can be checked out.  The average replacement cost for a book is $25.00 plus a $5.00 processing fee.  In order to register for the next semester, all accounts with the LRC must be cleared.

LRC Orientations
The LRC offers a general and adapted library orientation program. The general orientation session requires a 24-hour advance notice. The adapted orientation session, which is planned by the librarian with the requesting faculty, requires one week's notice as it is specialized or tailored to the course/class.
