SALISBURY,
N.C. — Helping students stay current with the latest in business
software, Rowan-Cabarrus Community College (RCCC) is offering courses
in Microsoft Office 2007®.
Beginning
with the upcoming fall semester classes, RCCC students can receive instruction
in word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentation software. Microsoft
Office 2007 introduces a number of new capabilities, including an interface called
ribbons that groups features by use.
RCCC also
has partnered with Microsoft, through the Microsoft Development Network Academic
Alliance, to give students expanded access to Microsoft products. Students enrolled
in business technology programs will be able to use certain Microsoft operating
systems, software and programming languages on their home computers and personal
laptops.
“The
additional access to the software is offered at no cost to students and will
enhance their ability to take internet-based courses and classes that combine
in-class and on-line instruction,” explained Anne Curlee, program head
of computer information technology at RCCC.
