Rowan-Cabarrus Community College
Holds Next Board Meeting Oct. 29
 

            SALISBURY, N.C. — The next meeting of the Rowan-Cabarrus Community College Board of Trustees is scheduled for Oct. 29, at 4 p.m., in the new 3000 Building on RCCC’s South Campus. The board will meet in room 3333 and then take a tour of the new building.

            The meeting agenda includes:

  bullet Announcement of a contribution from the Glenn E. and Addie G. Ketner Family Foundation;
  bullet Introduction of the new student government president, Adele Harper;
  bullet The presentation of multiple scholarships
    bullet Potts Franklin Nursing Scholarship
    bullet Food Lion LLC scholarships
    bullet State Employee Credit Union Scholarships
    bullet Southern Select Community Credit Union Scholarship; and
  bullet A report on RCCC’s biotechnology program.

            Media representatives are invited to attend the board meeting and join the tour of the new 3000 building. The 40,000-square-foot facility will give RCCC’s South Campus much needed space for additional classrooms, student activities and faculty offices.

            Increasing the South Campus overall square footage by 50 percent, the 3000 building will provide space for:

  bullet 2 computer classrooms;
  bullet 13 general purpose classrooms;
  bullet 5 continuing education classrooms;
  bullet 2 laboratory classrooms;
  bullet A new student center and cafeteria;
  bullet A new bookstore;
  bullet 26 faculty offices and a faculty workroom;
  bullet A student government office;
  bullet An outdoor commons area for students;
  bullet Technical services workroom;
  bullet Storage space; and
  bullet Additional parking spaces.

            RCCC’s South Campus is located at 1531Trinity Church Rd., just off I-85, at exit 55, in Concord.
