RCCC Art Show Winners Announced

 

          SALISBURY, N.C. -- Rowan-Cabarrus Community College has announced the winners of its recent "Impulse 2008" art competition and show.

          Impulse 2008 featured the artistic work of RCCC's students, faculty and staff. The college held a public showing and reception on April 27 to display the numerous works entered in the Impulse 2008 competition. The diverse collection of artistic works included oil, acrylic and watercolor paintings, drawings and renderings, mixed media, photography and digital photography, and sculpture.

    • First Place: Jane Price for her watercolor "Bird Media"
    • Second Place: Jordan Waller for her photo collage
    • Third Place: Mauricio Gonzalez for his acrylic painting

          Receiving honorable mention recognition were:

    • Lauren Thomas - digital photography
    • Barbara Benton - graphite
    • Megan Lively - digital photography
    • Jessie Allen -- graphite
    • Chelsea Lytal - oil
    • Emmett Thomas - digital photography.
