RCCC Offering Six Sigma-Green Belt Training

 

                 SALISBURY, N.C. — The Office of Corporate and Professional Development at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College will offer Six Sigma-Green Belt training starting in September.

                  The class will meet every-other Tuesday, Sept. 9 through Nov. 16, from 4 to 8 p.m., at RCCC's Cabarrus Business & Technology Center, in Concord.

                  The course consists of 24 hours of instructor-led training and 21 hours of on-line training. The course fee is $1,144, with only 14 seats available. Persons can register for the course by calling 704-216-3598. Participants will earn 4.5 continuing education credits (CEUs) and a certificate of completion.

                  The Six Sigma-Green Belt course topics will include:

  bullet Obtaining a basic understanding of Six Sigma principles;
  bullet Understanding the application of DMAIC/L methodology;
  bullet How to demonstrate Six Sigma methodology on a project; and
  bullet Understanding the role of a Six Sigma Green Belt in leading a team.

                 Robert Olson, a process improvement specialist, will serve as instructor. He has more than 30 years of practical experience in process improvement techniques such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, statistics and problem solving. More than 250 students have become certified Six Sigma Green Belts in his classes. He is a registered professional engineer (PE) in North and South Carolina. He also is an ASQ-certified Six Sigma Black Belt.

                  RCCC's Cabarrus Business & Technology Center is located at 660 Concord Parkway North, in Concord.

                  RCCC's Corporate and Professional Development Office, part of the college's Continuing Education Department, provides on-site quality and process improvement training for large manufacturing operations and small business environments. Offerings include lean thinking, Six Sigma, statistical process control, process improvement and more. The customized training is client driven. Course content, schedule, methodology and location are based on the client's needs and preferences.
