Cisco Certification Classes
Start Aug. 18 at RCCC

SALISBURY, N.C. — Rowan-Cabarrus Community College (RCCC) has a limited number of seats in its fall semester Cisco certification classes. Prospective students are encouraged to register soon. The Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) is one of the most-sought-after certifications in the computer network and security industry.

RCCC's Cisco certification program, part of the college's certified Cisco Academy, meets all Cisco requirements and prepares students to take the CCNA examination. Students who complete the program also can earn a Cisco Track Certificate in networking.

The 12-hour Cisco certification program includes four classes, two of which are being offered during RCCC's upcoming fall semester. Day and evening classes are scheduled for Mondays and Wednesdays. Fall registration is underway, with classes beginning Aug. 18. RCCC will offer the other two certification classes in the spring 2009 semester.

Completion of the Cisco certification program also provides a foundation for students who want to pursue a diploma or associate degree in networking technologies or information systems security.

RCCC offers state-of-the-art equipment in the classroom, coupled with remote access capability, through which students can complete lab work and class assignments from home. In class, students will get hands-on experience making cables, configuring routers and switches, building networks and working with wireless components.

For more information about Cisco certification classes, and to schedule a tour of the RCCC Cisco Academy, contact John Brand at 704-216-3751 or Ruth Parker at 704-216-3787.

Fall semester registration runs through August 6. The college will hold on-campus late registration Aug. 12 on the North Campus, and Aug. 13 at the South Campus.

New students must apply to be enrolled. Every prospective student must complete an application and return it to the RCCC admissions office, allowing two business days for processing. New students can apply on-line or in person at RCCC's North and South campus.

RCCC's North Campus is located at I-85 and Jake Alexander Blvd., in Salisbury. The RCCC South Campus is at 1531Trinity Church Rd., just off N.C. 73 and I-85 at exit 55, in Concord.
