RCCC's Small Business Center
Offers Three QuickBooks® Courses

 

          CONCORD, N.C. — Small business owners looking for help with QuickBooks Pro® 2007 are invited to take courses offered by the Small Business Center (SBC) at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College.

           On Tuesday evenings, Aug. 19 through Sept. 2, from 6 to 9 p.m., the SBC will offer "Basic Accounting with QuickBooks." The class will meet at RCCC's Cabarrus Business & Technology Center in Concord. Tuition is $50, plus the textbook and other class materials.

           This course is designed for beginning QuickBooks users and teaches the fundamentals of accounting and the financial principles needed to operate a business. No previous accounting or QuickBooks experience is required.

           The SBC will offer "QuickBooks and Your Business: Level 1" Wednesday evenings, Sept. 10 through Oct. 8, from 6 to 9 p.m., at the Cabarrus Business & Technology Center. A second class will meet Monday evenings, Oct 6 through Nov. 3, from 6 to 9 p.m. also at the Cabarrus Business & Technology Center. Tuition is $79, plus the textbook and other materials.

           Students will learn how to chart accounts, receive payments, pay bills, create lists, track cash sales, enter bills, create invoices, make deposits, reconcile bank accounts, and write checks using QuickBooks. 

           The SBC also will offer "QuickBooks and Your Business Level II" Dec. 3 and 10 from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Cabarrus Business & Technology Center. Tuition is $55 plus the cost of the textbook and other materials. This course will cover payroll and job costing features in depth. The level I course is a prerequisite. The RCCC Cabarrus Business & Technology Center is located at 660 Concord Parkway North.

           Brian Huber and Semone Brisson will serve as course instructors. Huber is a certified public accountant with Daniel Ratcliff and Co. Brisson is the owner of Brisson's Accounting Service.

           The Small Business Center at RCCC is a community-based provider of education, training, counseling, information and referral, assisting entrepreneurs with business ideas and existing small business ventures.
