SALISBURY, N.C. — The Rowan-Cabarrus Community College Board of Trustees has re-elected Ray Paradowski of Salisbury as its chairman and Cyndie Mynatt of Concord as the vice chair. The board selected new RCCC President Carol Spalding to serve as secretary. Paradowski joined the RCCC Board of Trustees in 1988 and has served as chairman since 1991. He is a retired manager of operations for National Starch and Chemical Co., and was previously a member of the executive committee of the North Carolina Association of Community College Trustees. Mynatt became an RCCC trustee in 2005 and has served as vice chairman since 2006. She is the president of Ben Mynatt Pontiac-Buick-GMC in Concord, Ben Mynatt Nissan in Salisbury, Ben Mynatt Pre-Owned Inc., of Kannapolis, and Ben Mynatt Chevrolet-Cadillac in Concord. She is a board member of Cabarrus Bank & Trust, the Cabarrus County Community Foundation, the Cabarrus College of Health Sciences, the North Carolina Automobile Dealers' Association, and the Ben Mynatt Children's Foundation. Spalding assumed the presidency of RCCC on Aug. 11. She was the Open Campus president of Florida Community College in Jacksonville from 1988 until earlier this year. She also served as the president of the Downtown Campus from 1998-2001 and as interim college president in 1997. Her other leadership experience includes serving as dean of the Open Campus, director of continuing education, program coordinator/counselor and instructor of management at Florida Community College. She has been a board member of the American Association of Community Colleges since 2005. The RCCC board voted on its officers at its Aug. 25 meeting, held on the North Campus in Salisbury. |
