RCCC Offering Microsoft PowerPoint, Access Classes

          CONCORD, N.C. — The Corporate and Professional Development Office at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College is offering Microsoft PowerPoint® and Microsoft Access® classes for beginning and intermediate users.

           Classes are offered October through mid-November, lasting two weeks, with some Saturday sessions, and will meet at either RCCC's Cabarrus Business & Technology Center or South Campus.

The class schedule includes the following.

MS PowerPoint Basic
          Learn how to navigate in a slide show, edit a presentation, use graphic objects, work with charts and tables, and place the final touches on a slide show.

• 8 a.m. to noon, Oct. 1 and 8, at Cabarrus Business & Technology Center
• 1-5 p.m.., Oct. 1 and 8, at Cabarrus Business & Technology Center
• 4-8 p.m., Sept. 25 and Oct. 2, at RCCC's South Campus
• 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Nov. 1 and 8, at RCCC's South Campus

MS PowerPoint Intermediate
          Learn how to import outlines and charts, add animation, work with masters, make the presentation, use multi-media, and create a template.

• 8 a.m. to noon, Oct. 15 and 22, at Cabarrus Business & Technology Center
• 1-5 p.m., Oct. 15 and 22, at Cabarrus Business & Technology Center
• 4-8 p.m., Oct. 9 and 16, at South Campus
• 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Nov. 15 and 22, at South Campus

MS Access Basic
          Learn the basics; design a database; edit, sort and customize tables; do reports and queries.

• 1-5 p.m., Oct. 29 and Nov. 5, at Cabarrus Business & Technology Center
• 4-8 p.m., Oct. 23 and 30, at South Campus

MS Access Intermediate
          Learn how to import and export data, create relationships, do advance queries, create advanced forms, create groups and totals, and work with macros.

• 8 a.m. to noon, Nov. 12 and 19, at Cabarrus Business & Technology Center
• 1-5 p.m., Nov. 12 and 19, at Cabarrus Business & Technology Center
• 4-8 p.m., Nov. 6 and 13, at South Campus

          The classes are open to adult learners. Seating is limited, and advanced registration is required. Class fees range from $50 to $55, plus a text/materials fee. Call 704-216-3598 for more details.

           The Cabarrus Business & Technology Center is located at 660 Concord Parkway North, in Concord. RCCC's South Campus is at 1531 Trinity Church Rd., near I-85 and N.C. 73, at exit 55.

           RCCC's Corporate and Professional Development Office, part of the college's Continuing Education Department, provides on-site quality and process improvement training for large manufacturing operations and small business environments. Offerings include Lean, Six Sigma Green Belt and Black Belt, ISO, project management and more. The customized training is client driven. Course content, schedule, methodology and location are based on the client's needs and preferences.

           Rowan-Cabarrus Community College is a comprehensive, community-based institution of higher learning, serving the citizens of Rowan and Cabarrus Counties.
