RCCC Offers Six Sigma Courses |

CONCORD, N.C. — The Customized Training and Development Office at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College will offer Six Sigma Yellow, Green and Black Belt courses in early 2009. The 12-hour Six Sigma Yellow Belt class will meet 8 a.m. to noon on Jan. 6, 13 and 20 at RCCC's Cabarrus Business & Technology Center (CBTC). The course fee is $80. Students will learn Six Sigma history and structure, basic statistical terms, the fundamentals of problem solving and problem mapping and Lean principles. The 24-hour Six Sigma Green Belt class will meet 4 to 8 p.m. on Mondays, Feb. 2 through April 13, at the CBTC. The course fee is $950. The class will cover basic principles, how to apply DMAIC/L methodology and include a Six Sigma project. The 40-hour Six Sigma Black Belt class will meet 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursdays, Jan. 8 through March 12, at the CBTC. The course fee is $1,716.50. Students will learn statistics, measurement, sustaining and maximizing return on investment, analysis of variance, linear regression and control charts. RCCC's Corporate and Professional Development Office, part of the college's Continuing Education Department, provides on-site quality and process improvement training for large manufacturing operations and small business environments. Offerings include Lean, Six Sigma, ISO, project management and more. The customized training is client driven.
