Kannapolis Resident Wins RCCC Cube

SALISBURY, N.C. — Judy Gentle of Kannapolis won an "Infinity Cube," made and given away by the Machining Technology program at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College.

Inifinity Cube               People who attended RCCC's May 1 community block party on the North Carolina Research Campus and stopped by the machining technology table could register to win a free infinity cube made at the college. Gentle's name was drawn as the winner.

The community block party followed the inauguration of Carol S. Spalding, RCCC's third president. The inauguration ceremony also was held at the NCRC.

RCCC's Machining Technology program is designed to give students skills in the theory and safe use of hand tools, power machinery, computerized equipment and sophisticated precision inspection instruments. Students learn to interpret blueprints, set up manual and CNC machines, perform basic and advanced machining operations and make decisions to ensure work quality is maintained. Employment opportunities for machining technicians exist in manufacturing industries, public institutions, government agencies and in a wide range of specialty machining job shops.
