RCCC Holds Nursing Pinning Ceremony

 

              SALISBURY, N.C. — Fifty-one students who will graduate from Rowan-Cabarrus Community College later this month with an associate degree in nursing participated in a recent pinning ceremony, held at St. John's Lutheran Church, in Salisbury.

               Ceremony guests included family and friends, college faculty and staff, and the program's RN preceptors who also received special recognition.

               Receiving pins at the ceremony were:

              The RN preceptors honored at the ceremony included:

              After receiving their pins, the graduating nursing students recited the Florence Nightingale Pledge.

               RCCC's Associate Degree Nursing program provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide nursing care to clients and groups of clients throughout the lifespan, in a variety of settings. Courses include the nurse's role as provider of nursing care, as manager of care, as member of the discipline of nursing, and as a member of the interdisciplinary team.

               Graduates are eligible to apply to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN) which is required for practice as a registered nurse. Employment opportunities include hospitals, long term care facilities, clinics, physicians' offices, industry and community agencies.
