RCCC Earns Workplace Safety Award

 

                 SALISBURY, N.C. — Rowan-Cabarrus Community College has earned a workplace safety award from the North Carolina Department of Labor. The award recognizes RCCC for reaching 1 million hours without a lost workday due to injury or illness.

                  From June 2007 through December 2008, RCCC logged more than 1.6 million employee hours without any full-time employ missing a day of work because of a work-related injury or illness.

                  In recognition of its workplace safety milestone, RCCC received a plaque from the N.C. Department of Labor and has been invited to send a representative to an awards banquet in spring 2010.

                  RCCC employs approximately 345 full-time faculty and staff members at its Cabarrus and Rowan County campus locations.
