RCCC Instructor Earns Rotary Award

 

              Garland Fulp SALISBURY, N.C. — Garland Fulp, a program head and instructor at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College, has been named a Paul Harris Fellow by the Rotary Club of Cabarrus County.

                Fulp received the distinction at a recent club banquet. He directs the business administration program at RCCC and teaches a number of business and marketing classes. He helped charter RCCC's Rotaract Club in 2001 and serves as its advisor. He also helped organize Rotaract Clubs at the Cabarrus College of Health Science, Pfeiffer University and UNC-Wilmington.

                RCCC's Rotaract club has undertaken a number of service projects, including helping build a Habitat for Humanity house, raising funds to construct a Habitat house in Romania, raising money for and delivering sonogram equipment to a maternity hospital in Romania, and collecting more than a ton of food for the Metrolina Food Bank.

                The Paul Harris Fellow recognition is named for the founder of Rotary International.
