RCCC Opens Registration
For Spring Semester Classes

SALISBURY, N.C. — Rowan-Cabarrus Community College has opened the early registration period for 2010 spring semester classes. RCCC encourages new and current students to register during the early period. The college anticipates a high demand for spring classes, based on its record-breaking fall semester enrollment of more than 7,000 students.

Spring semester registration runs through Nov. 30. New and current students who miss the early registration period will have to wait until Jan. 5 and 6, when RCCC will hold late registration. Spring semester classes start Jan. 11.

New students must apply to be enrolled. Prospective students can apply on-line at www.rowancabarrus.edu/admissions, or meet in person with an admissions counselor at RCCC's North and South campus. Applications require two business days for processing.

RCCC's North Campus is located at I-85 (exit 75) and Jake Alexander Blvd., in Salisbury. The RCCC South Campus is at 1531Trinity Church Rd., just off N.C. 73 and I-85 at exit 55, in Concord.

"The best way current and new students can ensure they get the classes they want at the times they want is to register before Nov. 30," said Gaye McConnell, RCCC vice president of student services.

"New students should start the application process now. They will need time to complete the application, take the required placement tests and meet with an admissions advisor to register for classes. Current students should meet with their advisors as soon as possible to make sure they fulfill all of their program requirements," McConnell added.

RCCC students who register early have until Dec. 7 to make tuition payments. Students who register in January must pay tuition the same day they register.

RCCC offers day, evening and on-line classes for adults and high school students. Persons wanting to pursue a four-year degree can earn their first-two years of college credits at RCCC, close to home and at an affordable price. RCCC also offers GED and basic skills programs. Adults 65 and older can take some classes tuition free. See the RCCC website at www.rowancabarrus.edu/registration, or call 704-216-3593 for more details.
