SALISBURY, N.C. — Troy Schiedenhelm, a psychology faculty member at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College (RCCC), has co-authored a second psychology textbook that will be used by students at RCCC and other colleges. Schiedenhelm has co-authored "Discovering Abnormal Psychology: Clinical and Scientific Perspectives" (second edition), with Charles A. Lyons of Eastern Oregon University and Barclay Martin of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (emeritus). The book, being published by the Horizon Textbook Publishing of Redding, Calif., is intended for abnormal psychology classes. It will be available in 2010. Schiedenhelm also co-authored the textbook, "Discovering Psychology," published in 2009 by Horizon Textbook Publishing. Schiedenhelm earned a bachelor's degree at Point Park College and a master's degree at West Chester University. He holds a doctoral degree from Argosy University. He has taught at RCCC since 2003. RCCC offers a number of psychology courses, including applied, abnormal, interpersonal, forensic, social, personality, life span development, general psychology and the psychology of aging. Students wanting to pursue a four-year degree in psychology can start their studies at RCCC through the college's associate in arts degree program and then transfer to a four-year school. |
